Ong Family History

"Ong Family History" is a blog started in August 2014 that is dedicated to the genealogy and history of the Ong family, originally of Suffolk, England, with records dating from as early as ca. 1280 AD.

The Ong Family

The Ong Family History blog follows in the footsteps of "The Ong Family of America" by Albert R. Ong, A.M., M.D. (1846-1906), published in Martins Ferry, Ohio in 1906. Dr. Ong's work, published posthumously, is remarkable for its time and is a treasured resource, especially for its complete transcript of the 1905 Ong Family Reunion held in Smithfield, Ohio.

But our access to early records is far superior to the reach of a small-town doctor from the early 20th century, and the "Ong Family History" blog focuses especially on the early English period, Colonial America, and U.S. history up to the Civil War. But anything relating to the Ong family at any time is within scope!

We welcome all comments.
