Membership

The Middlesex Genealogical Society is for all those interested in family history research. Although much of MGS is available to everyone, not just Members, membership is encouraged to support the MGS activities.

Why MGS?. The activities of MGS are:

  1. Association with people who share your interest in family research.
  2. Participation in five program Meetings each year, including Zoom meetings, which are for Members only
  3. Four Newsletters each year e-mailed to Members and anyone on our Mailing list .
  4. Access for Members to vital records at town and city record offices in Connecticut. The Society is registered with the State of Connecticut, thereby giving Members access.
  5. A free Member Page on this website to display information about your family.
  6. Participation in the MGS Y-DNA project at Family Tree DNA, including help in understanding and choosing Y-DNA tests.
  7. An opportunity to participate in running a vibrant organization and help others research their family history.
Donations are also appreciated. See below.

Membership Dues

Membership is on a calendar-year basis.

Individual membership$25 for 1 year ($45 for 2 years)
Family membership$30 for 1 year ($55 for 2 years)

Membership Application Form: If you are a new member, fill out our Application for Membership and include it with your membership dues. Existing members do not need to fill out a membership application.

Membership Dues Options: Please select a membership option from the following dropdown as well as a payment method. The PayPal link also includes debit and credit card payment options. Alternatively, you may pay by personal check. Please make your check payable to Middlesex Genealogical Society and mail it to us at Post Office Box 9, Darien, CT 06820.

Donations

Donations are most welcome. We fund our presentation programs and other activities through Donations as well as dues. Please consider a Donation to help us. Donations may be made at any time. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, so any Donations may be tax deductible and may be matched by your employer. Make your check payable to Middlesex Genealogical Society. Our mailing address is Post Office Box 9, Darien, CT 06820. Or pay through PayPal, Venmo, and credit card by clicking on the Donate button below.
